Easter weekend is coming April 6-8. We’ve compiled a list of Easter sunrise services as well as other special services during Easter weekend in the Cape Fear region.

But this is a living list!

Easter at the beach 2012

Church of the Servant Episcopal will have its Easter sunrise service at 6 a.m. Sunday April 8 at Beach Access 4 on Wrightsville Beach. Details: 910-395-0616.

College Acres Baptist Church will hold its Giant Easter Egg Hunt at 9 a.m. April 8, along with a free pancake breakfast and a 10:15 a.m. celebration service at 702 Eastwood Road. Details: 910-799-3773.

North Pointe Community Church will hold its 12th Annual Easter Celebration at the Beach at 7 a.m. Easter Sunday morning (April 8) at the Oceanic Pier at Wrightsville Beach. Details: 910-617-0796.

Pine Valley Baptist Church will host its Sunrise Service on the Battleship U.S.S. North Carolina at 6:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 8 with Pastor Chuck Love preaching. Details: 910-791-1949.

Grace United Methodist Church at 401 Grace St. will have an Easter Resurrection Service with special choir anthems, organ music and hymns at 10:55 am. on Sunday, April 8. Details: 910-763-5197.

St. Stephen AME Church will host an Easter sunrise celebration at 6 a.m. Sunday, April 8 at St. Stephen AME Church, 501 Red Cross St. Details: 910-762-9829.

First Baptist Missionary Church at 520 North Fifth Ave. will host its Easter Sunrise Service at 6 a.m. April 8, followed by an Easter program and Morning Worship Service. Details: 910-763-2647.

The New Vision of Faith Missionary Baptist Church will host its Easter Sunrise Service at 6 a.m. April 8 on Carolina Beach. Enter the beach access on Canal Street behind McDonalds on Carolina Beach. Bring a beach chair for comfort.

St. Mary Catholic Church’s Easter Mass schedule at 412 Ann St. will be 6:30 a.m. – Mass in English, 8 a.m. – Mass in English, 9:30 a.m. – Mass in English,  11 a.m. – Mass in English and 12:30 p.m. – Mass in Spanish. Details: 910-762-5491.

St. Mark Catholic Church’s Easter Mass schedule on April 8 at 1011 Eastwood Road will be: 7:30 a.m. – Mass in the church, 9:30 a.m. Mass in the church, 9:30 a.m. Mass in the parish hall,  11:30 a.m. Mass in the church and 1:30 p.m. Spanish Mass in the church. Details: 910-392-0720.

Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church will host Good Friday prayers in the church’s garden on its north side noon-3 p.m. April 6. People are invited to pause for prayer at the cross in the garden at 409 S. 5th Avenue. Fifth Avenue’s early morning Easter service will be at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. April 8 in the church’s garden. A church breakfast will follow the 8:30 a.m. service. Details: 910-763-2621.

Unity of Wilmington will present The Seven Last Words of Jesus at 2 p.m. Friday, April 6 at the church, 717 Orchard Ave. There will be a Children’s Easter Celebration 1-3 p.m. April 7 on the church grounds. Easter Sunday services will be at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Details: 910 -763-5155.

The yearly gathering of Wrightsville Beach churches for an Easter sunrise service will be at 6:30 a.m. April 8 at the end of Oxford Street, near Beach Access 19 on Wrightsville Beach. Details: 910-256-2819.
